Structural features 1. Generally made of polyethylene material, single-layer or double-layer; breathable and moisture permeable, able to block the penetration of fine dust and liquid. 2. There is an elastic band on the face of the hat, which can better make the hat close to the face, and the elastic band in the waist makes the protective clothing more close to the body, comfortable and beautiful. The jacket has a zipper on the chest for easy putting on and taking off.
Disposable coveralls are classified into 6 categories (based on the level of protection they provide). It’s important to discuss your protection requirements with a product expert prior to purchasing disposable coveralls, as statutory and/or regulatory requirements may apply in your workplace.
Type 1 – a coverall designed to protect against dangerous gases and liquids (may also feature an air line)
Type 2 – a coverall that retains positive pressure, but isn’t gas tight (offers protection against liquids, vapours and dust)
Type 3 – a coverall that is liquid tight (seams are sealed rather than stitched)
Type 4 – a coverall that protects against chemical sprays (similar to Type 3, but not as heavy duty)
Type 5 – a coverall that prevents the ingress of dust and airborne particles, including asbestos (provided disposable coveralls are used)
Type 6 – a coverall that protects against light spray and chemical splashes (offers a lower level of chemical protection than Types 3 and 4)
In Abco’s experience, Types 4, 5 and 6 are the most popular disposable coveralls. Depending on the brand and model, most disposable coveralls (Type 4, 5 and 6) are made from either non-woven polypropylene or breathable microporous fabric. A triple-layered SMS (spunbond, meltblown, spunbond) fabric is frequently used in good-quality Type 5 asbestos coveralls and asbestos removal protective clothing.
In relation to hazardous activities, such as asbestos removal, it’s advisable to consult the Safe Work Australia website for detailed information on Workplace Health and Safety (WHS). In the eyes of Safe Work Australia, disposable coveralls and personal protective equipment (PPE) are only part of the overall health and safety picture.
The demand for coverall-type protective clothing is increasing in many industrial fields; however, it is impossible to evaluate the wearers` apparel fit because there is no commercialized pattern in the market. This study produces a manual for the process of acquiring patterns by separating PPE products into pieces to provide information on acquiring patterns. The analysis was on coverall-type non-woven Disposable Protective Coverall in the domestic market, and 4 panels examined the validity, reliability, and efficiency of various possible methods on each step of the process. Five steps were conducted to acquire patterns removing wrinkles, marking seams lines, separating seams, and pattern completing. The process of converting these into pattern files was designed through three procedures of digitizing, editing and exporting and detailed stages. Fitting tests were undertaken, real patterns by actual modeling, and pattern files by virtual modeling; all showed similar forms with outfits wearing ready-made protective coveralls. This study sought the most efficient and objective method of virtual modeling and proposed it as a manual.
